Recently, the price for calcium formate grows up as the formic acid supply goes into shortage.

Calcium formate is one of main additives for cement concrete and mortar to increase the hardness and shorten the setting time

and it is a popular feed preservative.The consumption is very big. However the price does not always be stable. Even the market demand is not good and the raw materials cost does not increase, the price often goes up and down.

Recently, the price goes up too much. The reason is because the main raw materials--Formic Acid supply goes into shortage.

The below graphic shows how the price for formic acid with 85% of purity changes.(the left vertical axis is price by RMB per ton EXW while the bottom horizontal axis is dates.)

The main reason is because the biggest producer on formic acid starts to take annual maintenance on the equipments since July 20,2025.So the market supply reduces almost 50%.

The current market demands is at low level. If after the annual maintenance, they don't want to recover their production capacity. The price will be at high level or higher level.

And many players loves that situation appears, so they will find better chance to sell their stock.

But for the end-users, it will be at opposite situation.
